I had decided to paint the Power Noodles restaurant in Diamond city as a night scene. Nocturne paintings really stand out from the usual daylight. The mystery in darks with the vibrant colors of illuminated objects is unique to night paintings. You don't see such vibrancy in daytime as everything is bleached out by the sunlight. My intention here was to capture the night feel of the scene with the glowing neon signs and cozy light bulbs to evoke a feeling of tranquility.
